How to save yourself from Job Frauds or Fake Recruitment Scams

Every year thousands of candidates fall prey to Job Frauds (or Fake Recruitment Scams). These Job frauds are done by a single person or a group of people with criminal intention of gathering money in the name of recruitment application fee. Now a days such frauds occur online with the help of fake website which will look similar to official website except a few characters. Then this fake website is advertised in newspapers or online market and people fall prey to recruitment offers on the website and make online submission of application fee which is deposited in the account of fraud group.

Here we will tell you some simple things to save you from such job frauds. These things are important and will take only a few seconds to verify.

  • Domain name extension: Usually all government sites have ".gov.in" or ".nic.in" in their domain name. If the website on which you are applying does not contain that, then you need to do some further investigation.
  • Check the official website in Google: Try to google the name of official website of the department. Suppose you want to search for official site of Punjab Agriculture Department, the seach "Official Website of Punjab Agriculture Department" in google search. It will display the real official website on the top of results.
  • Some times same recruitment is available on both official and fake website which makes it harder to distinguish. In that case don't fall in the trap and apply through official website only.
  • Before making the payment check in whose account the payment is going.
  • Never pay application fee to fake agents. Tell them that you will apply online, as now a days every department have its website and invites applications online for different posts.
